Running being a large portion of her life, Emily first heard about ASA in a local 5K when she saw some of our amazing athletes crossing the finish line and signed up to be a WingMan as soon as she got home. Four seasons later, Emily continues her work and loves working with those same athletes and putting her passion for running to use.
Struggling to choose one race, Emily decided that the Charles Street 12-miler will always remain a favorite since it was the first race that she crossed the finish line with ASA (but the Ravens Run and ASA 5K are very close runner-ups). When she's not training with ASA's athletes, she works as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
After seeing ASA athletes competing in many of the races Christine competed in, she joined ASA's mission in 2013 seeing how it was the perfect balance of her two passions: advocating for the inclusion of people with special needs and running. She's competed in a variety of distances since first getting 'hooked' on running in college, ranging from 5Ks to full marathons.
When asked, she immediately answered that her favorite race would have to be the Baltimore Running Festival. She loves the course (with all its hills) running through her home and the incredible amount of support she sees for the athletes of ASA from fellow runners and those cheering in the crowds.
